2022 Spring Meeting Recap

Posted By: Joe Zgrabik Association News,
The Transformers Association (TTA) had not met in-person for a Spring Meeting since 2019, so it was exciting to have over 50 members gather in Chicago for three days of networking, keynote presentations, and professional development.

The Board of Directors met on Tuesday, April 19 to discuss the state of membership, first-quarter financials, future meetings, and much more!

The Five Roses Pub served as host for the welcome reception on Tuesday night. Attendees enjoyed the Irish fare and networking with colleagues, both new and old.

Gail Alofsin kicked off day one of the meeting with a keynote presentation titled, “Leadership at ALL Levels”. Gail emphasized that from the front lines to the C-Suite, “leadership” is a skill that you develop through the decisions and choices you make and influence every day, no matter what your position is in your company.

Following Gail, Kevin Lurie of NFP Corp discussed the trends in healthcare and how members and their businesses might be affected. Attendees then broke for lunch and speed dating, where Industry Suppliers, IMA Working Group members, and Industry Manufacturers had the opportunity to chat about market drivers, trends, and challenges facing the industry.

Programming wrapped up for the day with a business and technical concurrent forum. Those in the business forum discussed the current state of cybersecurity and data privacy and how businesses should be prepared to deal with the imminent cyber threats. The members in the technical forum covered all things wire with presentations titled: “Magnet Wire/Winding Wire: The Past, Present, and Future…”, “Lead Wire, Litz Wire, and Insulation Systems”, and “Wire Enamel”. Thank you to the TTA members who led the presentations and generated positive engagement from the attendees.

The final day of the Spring Meeting opened with material updates from numerous TTA members. Kelly Riggs then concluded the meeting with a presentation on the impact of the “Great Resignation” and how companies find and retain great talent.

Thank you to our sponsors, speakers, and participants for making this another extraordinary TTA Spring Meeting. Make sure to mark November 30 – December 2 on your calendars for the 2022 TTA Fall Meeting in Myrtle Beach, SC!
